Lumpini Park

Lumpini Park is located in Bangkok, Thailand. By the decree of King Rama VI, a 57-hectare park was established on the territory owned by the king personally. The park was founded in the twenties of the 20th century, then it was the outskirts of Bangkok.


The park is located right in the middle of gigantic skyscrapers, like a green fragrant oasis in the desert, attracting travelers with freshness and coolness in the sultry Bangkok.


In front of the entrance is a monument to one of the kings of the Chakri dynasty, and many traders offering sweets, soft drinks, fruits and souvenirs. Entrance to the park Lumpini free, guarded, scheme of the park at the entrance. The park is open from 04:30 to 21:00.


When there are holidays in Bangkok, events are held in Lumpini: a stage is set, and performers of different nationalities perform on it. From time to time, dance parties are held.




The most revered object of the park, the statue of King Rama IV (1851–1868). The base of the statue is decorated with a scattering of fresh flowers. People worship the monument almost every day, presenting bouquets of flowers as a gift.


In the park, the locals do: tai-tzu, yoga, meditation, many runners and skaters. Hours in the 17-18 always spend free sports workouts with fun music for everyone for free. In the evening, visitors who support a healthy lifestyle, it becomes more times. Moreover, age is completely unimportant: you can meet both retirees and very young children. On weekends, people come here with their families and have picnics, sitting right on the lawns.


Two alleys lead to the depth of the Lumpini Park: the first to the lake with birds and fish. On the lake you can ride a catamaran, a boat (40 baht ($ 1.1) for half an hour + 40 baht deposit ($ 1.1)) and feed the fish, which are huge in the lake (feed can be purchased on site for 10 baht). The second one leads to the lawn, where among the vegetation, there is a stage for performances, on which shows are held on weekends and holidays.


There is also a small river in the park. On one of the banks there is a town for children, where they can frolic. There are a variety of swing, sandbox, ladders.


In the corner farthest from the entrance there is a meadow with rare species of trees and bushes. The name of each of the plants can be read on the plate. Central Park in Bangkok also attracts the attention of tourists with the presence of monitor lizards. Look for them better by the water. Sometimes they crawl into the trees and watch everyone from high up, so be careful.


The park is prohibited:


Come with dogs, even if they are muzzled and on a leash.

Smoking and drinking alcohol.
