Jomtien or Jomtien Beach, on road signs and maps is often written Chom Tian, a district of the city and a large beach located in the south of Pattaya. Jomtien is located about 3 km from the center of Pattaya and there are many hotels on the beach line, high-rise condominiums and restaurants.
One of the worthy options for spending time in Pattaya is the 6-kilometer Jomtien Beach, which is located 2 km south of the city center. Experienced tourists say that this beach is a real salvation for those who attach importance to clean and clear waters. It is clear that popularity always adds to the resort of gloss and fashionable, but cleanliness often suffers. Jomtien, in this case, is a good exception to the rule. Being close to the center of a populous resort town, it is fairly clean and well maintained. By the way, this is why not only tourists, seeking to get away from the noise of the center of Pattaya, but also locals, have chosen it. After all, they work at a time when tourists are resting, and tend to relax after a busy day, and therefore they appreciate quiet Jomtien. On weekends, there are often picnics here, in addition, residents of the capital come to relax on the weekend.
On the beach a wide range of water activities. There is everything for surfing, skyting, you can rent water skis or good old "banana" boat, all the necessary equipment on the beach is available. Unlike the neighboring and also quite popular Dongtan, Jomtien represents much more choices of food points - there are many restaurants, cafes and bars here. Getting to Jomtien from Pattaya will be most convenient with a tuk-tuk — or, in Thai, a songto. This is one of the most common types of public transport in Thailand, something like our minibuses is a small open truck, the cost of a trip to Jomtien ranges from 3 to 5 USD one way, depending on where you go from Pattaya. By the way, it is quite appropriate here and even decided to bargain.

Nearby is Pattaya Park, the most favorite place of our compatriots. The park has a water park, attractions and the famous Tower, from which you can go down on a cable attached to the body like a circus belay. Of course, such entertainment is not for the faint of heart.
Due to its remoteness from the center, prices are lower and there is less noise, but the infrastructure is fully adapted to the needs of holidaymakers, and the natural conditions are excellent. At every step I want to take a photo. In other words, Jomtien Beach is a great place for a long vacation in Thailand, especially with children.
There are no places for diving, entry into the water is very flat, during low tide, you can generally move away from the shore and splash in shallow water with might and main. So for children and all those who cannot swim, the place is beautiful. If we talk about the beaches of Pattaya, then Jomtien is one of the cleanest beaches with clean water and coastline. There are also many small cafes and restaurants where you can have a quick and inexpensive snack.
Beach chairs compared to other resorts in Pattaya are inexpensive - on the third line at 40 baht, on the second - 50 each, on the first - 60 or more, and 80 baht each.
Keep in mind that by paying for a chaise longue, you get a complete beach set - a sunbed, a table, a parasol, a coat hanger. True, the safety of things no one guarantees, this is the personal care of everyone. When the beach is filled, it actually turns into a cafe by the sea, your order will be brought to you with pleasure directly to your deckchair and table.
The strip of the beach is rather narrow, 15 meters, and the length is about 6 km. All this makes Jomtien Beach an ideal place for outdoor recreation as such. In addition, there is no swimming area, fenced buoys, so that often have to make their way through the boats to get to this water.
Nearby, along the beach, there is a car route, so it is convenient to get here, but one does not have to wait for special clean air. The water, as elsewhere in Pattaya, is muddy, it is found in household plastic trash, and organic. And sometimes you can meet and take photos of coastal inhabitants - starfish and hedgehogs. During low tide, a silty bottom can be seen.
