The Champs-Élysées, or Shaz-Elise

The Champs-Élysées, or Shaz-Elise, is the central street of Paris, one of the main thoroughfares of the 8th arrondissement of the French capital. The Champs Elysees stretches from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. Length - 1915 m, width - 71 m.

It is impossible to imagine Paris without its main, busiest street, which originates in Concord Square and, without turning off, walks to the legendary Arc de Triomphe. Champs Elysees (or Chance-Elise) - this name originated in 1789, when revolution broke out over France.

The length of the Central Paris Avenue is 1915 m with a width of 71 m. It is believed that if you did not walk along the Champs Elysées during your stay in Paris, you did not see the city, and therefore it is not surprising that thousands of tourists visit them every day. But such a relentless revival does not detract from the attractiveness of the street in the eyes of the locals, who know its nicest corners, and are ready to share their secret.

Elysium can be divided into cultural and commercial parts. In the first, you will be spiritually rich in food, and in the second you can satisfy natural hunger in restaurants and cafes, go shopping and rent a room in a hotel, if financial situation allows. Life in this part of Paris is not cheap, and not everyone can afford to stay in a hotel, whose room costs from 150 euros, and the view from the window is not the most picturesque, and the rooms are quite modest.

The Champs Elysees in Paris in the photo always look elegant, especially at night, illuminated by the lights of illumination. But when you see this magnificence personally, you forget to breathe with delight. Walking along the main street in daylight and at night, you will see amazing metamorphosis that occurs with the city. Although the museums are closed, architecture in the rays of multi-colored spotlights acquires a new sound, proportions and volume.

If you want to look down on the greatness of Shanz-Elise, just for € 6 for people over 12 years old, climb the viewing platform of the Arc de Triomphe, and from a height of 49 meters you will enjoy a luxurious panorama. After enjoying it, visit the internal museum, and on the outside you can explore the bas-reliefs with battle scenes and read the names of the generals.

From a distance, you can see a stele with ancient Egyptian letters, installed on the Place de la Concorde. This obelisk was presented to Napoleon as a gift and sign of his location by the viceroy of Egypt. Earlier this artifact for more than 30 centuries stood at the Temple of Ramses II, and now on both sides on the main Parisian street there are 2 fountains in which mythological characters are lapped.

On the same square you can admire 8 statues, personifying 8 major French cities. The sculptures are admirable: Coney Marley and Horse Tamers. Put them here in 1795, but now you see their copies, and the originals who suffered from time are exhibited in the Louvre.

The greatest celebrity is the Elysée Palace, and the name he received from the Duchess of Bourbon. The palace was built in the XVIII century for Count Evre, but he sold it to Madame de Pompadour. After her death, according to the will, the building passed to King Louis XV. Josephine, Napoleon's wife, also lived here, and the commander in the Silver Hall abdicated the throne by affixing it to the document.

Today it is the most fashionable avenue of the city, and the richest and most famous people of the world flock here. For luxury and high prices, he competes with New York's Fifth Avenue and Ginza Street in Tokyo.

To rent an office here, you will have to pay from 10 000 € per square meter, and to buy an apartment here are mere mortals and do not dream. There are very few residential buildings on the leading avenue, and all the buildings are the Champs-Elysées, banks, offices, restaurants and hotels.
