In Greece, the sights are incalculable. Some are impressive, others are disappointing. But there are places where it’s hard to believe.
Petrified Forest Lesvos
If you can get to the island of Lesbos, do not hesitate to go to the Petrified Forest. This is one of the largest clusters of petrified trees in the world - there is simply no analogue of this landmark in Greece. Fallen ancient trees are scattered over a large area, and some of them reach 15 m in girth.
Melissani Lake on Kefalonia
Melissani Lake in Kefalonia is located in a cave, the dome of which collapsed in antiquity. From above, the sun's rays fall on the lake's waters, and the bottom is perfectly visible. Thanks to this, photos of Lake Melissani can be easily mistaken for the creation of Photoshop.
Cave Daveli in Attica
Another unusual place, the cave of the Doveli, is rarely visited by tourists. It is located in the mountain of Penteli and is famous for its many underground passages. And the fact that inside is a Byzantine church. There are legends about the cave of David. Someone talks about mysterious lights and mysterious sounds, and someone even saw shadows in it. Perhaps this is why tourists often bypass the sidelines.
